Getting Ready for the Great Race

This year's Great Race will take place around the Great Lakes. I am really looking forward to participating in this unique and interesting road rally. I will be blogging about it from the road to keep you updated on our progress.

This summer we will be participating in an unusual and hopefully fun event called The Great Race. The Great Race is a cross-country road rally that pits driver/navigator teams against the clock and against each other. This year’s event course is planned around the Great Lakes, covering 19 cities, 2 countries and 4 states. The winning team is the one with the lowest overall score (the most accurately driven route) at the end of the event. What makes this particularly interesting? Not only is the course a beautiful route, the vehicles in the race are antique vintage cars, trucks, and motorcycles with body and drive train built 1969 or earlier. What is our team driving? A 1941 Packard. Thomas Karr of GroupeSTAHL Europe and his son will be part of the team, along with my wife Mary. We plan to be keeping you posted on our progress during the race, as long as that is technologically possible. Time to get started getting my custom team jackets and t-shirts printed. Luckily we know a few places that can help with that.
