Learn More About Lower Heat Platen Technology

Part of the great COOL DOWN is the new Hotronix Heated Lower Platen. This accessory will be available in mid November.

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to listen to the 2 Regular Guys podcast on Friday, Oct. 20th. (Click here if you missed it and want to hear the archived session) It was really great speaking with Aaron Montgomery and Terry Combs for almost an hour. Thank you so much for the opportunity guys. After reminiscing about Stahls’ 85 years in the industry (it was the condensed version), we were able to talk about where the industry is headed. Like I told them, no one has a crystal ball, but I do know that we are heading into a an era we like to call the big COOL DOWN. Even though heat printing is growing by leaps and bounds, and being used by customers of all sizes, including manufacturers, the garments of today require much more care when decorating. The sensitive fibers used in performance wear and polyesters can’t take the heat that cotton can. Which means we need adhesives with lower thermal melting points and new ideas for heat application. No one wants to see that scorched square around their graphics, no one wants to deal with ruined shirts. The solution for all this? Cool down. And the Hotronix Heated Lower Platen plays an important role as well.

Hotronix® Heated Lower Platen

The Hotronix Heated Lower Platen heats transfers and graphics from underneath, allowing a lower application temperature on the top platen to reduce scorching and production time. Now you can apply transfers and CAD-CUT heat transfer vinyl on expensive performance wear, polyester and tri blends without the risk of leaving a square or heat platen mark.

The new platen is compatible with any Hotronix Clam manufactured after 1980, including the Hotronix Auto Clam, MAXX Clam, and Draw Press.
