Another beautiful day on the road for the Great Racers.  After receiving our daily driving instructions, we left Lowell, Massachusetts heading to Bennington, Vermont. Driving through the Green Mountain National Forest was truly a treat. It’s easy to understand why Vermont proudly calls itself “The Green Mountain State” and why their license plates are even forest green. Even some of the bridges are green. After being received by a huge crowd in Bennington for our lunch stop, we later crossed into New York, where we would arrive in Poughkeepsie in time to watch the US National Men’s Team play Portugal in the FIFA World Cup. Whether you enjoy watching soccer or not, no one can say that game wasn’t exciting. Especially when the US loses their 2-1 lead in the last seconds of the game to end it in 2-2  tie. There were more than a few sad soccer fans but at least they didn’t lose. Monday we’l be stopping in East Stroudsburg, PA around noon and we’ll be in Valley Forge, PA in the evening. If you live or work nearby, we hope to see you! Don’t forget you can follow our Great Race progress via satellite, click here. I’ve also added a link under Ted’s Links on the lower left side.

Dan and Brett Stahl arrive in Poughkeepsie. All is well.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in Bennington at our midday stop.
