A Grandmother’s Love

Ricki Stahl enjoying the beauty and wonder of the Au Sable River near her home in Grayling, Michigan. Ricki loved to fish and she loved this spot on the river.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has emailed or left comments on this blog about my mother’s passing. All your kind words, memories and sympathies have been helpful in dealing with the empty feeling we have now that she is gone. My daughter Krystin composed a very lovely poem in honor of her “Gramma” and I thought I would share it with you. Grandmothers truly are special people.  God Bless Grandmothers everywhere!

REST IN PEACE GRAMMA STAHL
Gramma you are missed with all our love
But we know you’re safe up above
You’re at peace with no pain
You are free with all to gain
We know your in heaven where everything’s right
With your family and loved ones in the sparkly light
Say hi to Grandpa, Uncle Craig, and Babe your golden retriever too
We know they are so happy to see and be with you
You’ve fulfilled your life by giving it your all
We thank you for all the memories; big and small
Because you were one of a kind Gramma Stahl
Your life was always full of loving deeds
Forever thoughtful of our special needs
All the arts and crafts, cooking, and games we’d play
Seashell cups, homemade apple treats, or dress-up dolls during the day
Thank you for your son, he’s the greatest Dad and Grandpa, I must say
Today and tomorrow, our whole life through
We will always love and cherish you
So rest in peace and open your wings wide
For we will be together again on the other side!
