I’m Ted Stahl and if you’re looking for more information on printing t-shirts, CAD-CUT(R)materials, digital transfers, vinyl cutters, heat presses, lettering, team numbering or anything related to garment decoration, you will probably find what you are looking for here. At least you’ll find a link to a website or a how-to video that can give you more information. There are so many decorating options available today, I can’t discuss all of them in every posting, but will do my best to share my knowledge and insight from the standpoint of a manufacturer who works hard to provide products and services according to customer demand.

Why a Blog?
I really want to help you find the answers to your questions and hopefully point you in the right direction. As the leader of GroupeSTAHL, an international group of companies that has specialized in garment decorating innovations for the past several decades (we have been around since 1932), I am happy to take advantage of any technology that will help you gain better access to the volumes of information that we are taking great pains to organize and make available online. I hope that you will come to find this resource helpful, whether you are just getting started printing t-shirts or already have an established business. The imprinted industry is alive and well and I am glad that GroupeSTAHL companies are part of this ever-changing and growing marketplace.

As always, your comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated.

  1. Ted,

I got an error message when I sent a job to the plotter via CadWorx Live on July 5th. I contacted the support group and received a reference number 7474. To date, I have yet to get an answer. I’ve sent several follow up requests. Yesterday I spoke with a customer service rep at Sthals and he indicated that I needed to install Graphtec software in order to run Cadworx. I’ve been using Cadworx for the past 2 years with my CE6000 without any problems. The error occurred about 3 minutes after I cut a previous job. I have uninstalled Cadworx and resinstalled the software.

    Jackie,
I forwarded your comment to our Cadworxlive team and someone should be in touch with you shortly to troubleshoot and solve. Thank you for your patience.

    Hi Ted,
I have been invited to a car show and swap meet. How do you know what kind of prints to take to sell?
Also how do we obtain permission to sell prints with the ford, pontiac, chevrolet emblems?

    Hi Patti,
Thanks for reading. There is a big demand for custom shirts among car enthusiasts. It sounds like a great opportunity. Some stock licensed transfers from Ford, etc… are available from ArtBrands. Wildside also carries many car themed stock transfers. Or you could make a custom transfer with the name of the event, but you may also need permission to do so from the organizer. Good luck at your event, let us know how it goes.

Hi Michelle, You just need to find the right type of heat transfer material. Have you tried Thermo-FILM? Please take a look at this past blog post on printing on jute bags. http://tedstahl.com/printing-on-jute-bags/

    Hi Ted,
I hope you and yours had a special Christmas together.
I just wanted to say that I appreciate the high quality of vinyl that I’ve received from Stahls.ca over the past couple years. I created my company late in 2015 and wanted vinyl from Canada. I knew nothing about different qualities of vinyls. This past year I have been hearing from customers that there are indeed differences!! I have been pleased to read reviews on my website regarding the quality of the vinyl so the credit should be passed on to your company. Many blessings in the New Year to you and yours.

    Ted,
On many of your “How To” videos I see you have your vinyl stored horizontally on the slatwall. Do you know where I can find that type of storage hardware or what it is called?
    Thanks!

    Hello Robin,
Some of the sets or backgrounds we use for the How To Videos may be just made to “look good” for the set. But there are wall racks that are great for holding actual rolls of CAD-CUT materials. Here is one you can consider.
Here’s a link to a wall rack that could work: http://www.fantasticdisplays.com/products/20-roll-wall-mounted-media-roll-storage-rack/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-onjBRDSARIsAEZXcKYHYDl1y067ko1FvfI8Sns1TEypcSgO3viiq0L5h-MEzOQFFVbLmZAaApTlEALw_wcB

I just want to say that the quality of your vinyl had surpassed my client’s expectations. Appreciate it so much and for doing your best as a business owner. Continue to grow and have a good one.

Can I have an email for Ted or someone on his team, I have an issue to discuss but would rather not do it on a public forum.

  13. Ted says:

    Hello Howard,
I have asked someone to reach out to you so we can get in touch regarding your issue. Thanks for reading.
