When your customization business is located inside the world’s largest truck stop, like the Custom Shop at Iowa 80, you have a very unique location and very unique access to customers who want and need customization. Brett Stahl snapped these photos during the Great Race 2013, when the Great Racers stopped at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop for a tank of gas during the race. The manager of the Custom Shop was busy helping a customer while we were there and we were on rally-time so we couldn’t stay to chat. But we were all impressed at the size and organization of what looks to be a very successful and busy custom shop. We did catch a glimpse of a Hotronix cap press in the background and it appears they offer vinyl graphics, signs, truck lettering, heat printing, embroidery and more. You can see the Roland VersaCAMM printer/cutters in the foreground. Brett was able to grab a business card from the manager and we will give them a shout out this week for more information on their unusual location and what types of designs are most popular at “The World’s Largest Truckstop.” Don’t miss this stop if you are traveling through Iowa!
