Team “Spirt of Stahl” will be participating in the Great Race in just a few weeks! If you’re interested in learning more about what the Great Race is about, tune in to MuscleCar TV this weekend Saturday June 2, and Sunday June 3, 2012 during the PowerBlock on Spike TV. MuscleCar TV will air at 10:30am EST on both days. Since cars from the 60’s are now eligible for the Great Race, the show features a 1965 Pontiac GTO and 2005 Grand Champion racer Greg Cunningham. In previous years, Great Race rally cars had to be from the late 1930s or early 1940s. This new model year cutoff date opens up the Great Race to a new generation of cars and enthusiasts.
The car Team “Spirit of Stahl” is driving is a 1941 Packard in the Great Race road rally that will run from June 23 to July 1, 2012.
What’s so unusual about the car is that it is in ORIGINAL condition. It had one previous owner, it has never been restored, it features the original paint, original interior, original engine. We did install and automatic fuel pump and made one other adjustment to the back end for safety while driving. It is 71 years young with only 60,000 original miles. The 1941 Packard was one of the last Packards built before the war.
