Custom Printing at Events

Aluminum water bottles and thermal water jugs featured both the Soccerloco as well as the Surf Cup logo. Notice that these didn't feature the "2013" customization in the logo, which means they can be sold at next year's event as well. This is something to consider when printing promotional items for sale at annual events.

Yesterday I shared some photos from the Soccerloco San Diego Surf Cup 2013 that showed the heat printing customization opportunities that were available at this event. But there was more than just high-end Nike sports apparel and fan wear available for sale. What else were soccer fans from around the country offered as souvenirs of this “best of the best” soccer tournament? You name  it, they seemed to have had it for sale, from sunscreen to wall hangings. In addition to screen printed promotional items available from Soccerloco,  there was also a photo booth, apparently a different company. At this booth, pictures from games taken by professionals throughout the day were available for sale. But not just prints, you could also choose to have your photo printed on a t-shirt, on a nylon bag, on a luggage tag, mouse pad, you name it.

This POP (point of purchase) poster encouraged soccer fans to turn their photo into a mousepad. "Keep the Game Alive at Work". I liked that they gave reasons to purchase a personalized mousepad instead of just showing a photo of a mousepad. And the price is clear and understandable. Good marketing!

Here's another POP poster (point of purchase) for a sports bag tag. Again, it does an excellent job of telling the buyer why they should consider this purchase. And the smaller caption explains that you can use 2 photos, one on each side. Or that you could add a player number! Brilliant.

Fleece blankets and license plate holders. The fleece blankets probably didn't sell well, as they were discounted from $45 to $29 on the last day of the event.

These wall hangings were an interesting promotional item that I haven't seen outside of Europe before.

In addition to traditional coffee mugs and neoprene can or bottle holders, you could also purchase logoed sunscreen on a carabiner key chain.
