In St. Clair Shores, Michigan, our local community gathered Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park for the annual memorial service hosted by the VFW Bruce Post #1146.
While it is always nice to have a three day weekend to kick off the summer, let’s all take some time to remember the meaning of the day. In St. Clair Shores, Michigan, as in many towns and cities all across the United States, people gather to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice as well as those who are serving today or who have served. Many towns have parades or memorial events. On behalf of my wife Mary and my entire family, a heartfelt thank you–on Memorial Day and every day– to all the service men and women who have so selflessly served to protect our freedom.
