A Family Business with Humble Beginnings

Dan, left and Brett, right are 4th generation members of the Stahl family working hard to help your businesses succeed and make you feel like part of our family.

With the decade coming to a close, it’s hard to believe that this year our family business celebrated 87 years of serving customers with custom apparel decoration needs. We know that many of you also operate or work for family-owned businesses and we are honored and proud to serve you and help you grow. If you’re just getting to know us, our history goes back to 1932, when our grandfather A.C. Stahl started a company in Detroit called Commercial Art Products, which was divided into three areas, Screen Printing, Embroidery and Lettering. After our father Ernie returned from World War II, where he served as a Marine in the Pacific, he and our mother Ricki purchased the lettering part of the business from his father and renamed the company Stahls’ Felt Stamping. Our parents ran the business for many years out of their garage in Roseville, Michigan. Along with brothers Craig and Brian, we did whatever was needed to help our parents, including sweeping the floors, fixing machines and packing orders. When Brian and I purchased the company from our parents in the mid-70’s, it became known as Stahls’.
4th Generation Family Run
Today we are still a family-run business, with sons Dan and Brett working hard to stay true to our roots of putting the customer first. Our team members play a crucial part in the Stahl family culture, and we value what each of them bring to the table. We’re proud to uphold the reputation of our business year after year as we remain the innovator and leader in heat printing technology and decoration materials and services, but more importantly, in customer service. We work closely with customers, building relationships and helping you benefit from our years of experience, even if you are just starting out. Heading into this next decade, please know that we are doing everything we can to make you feel like part of the family, going the extra mile when needed and putting ourselves in your shoes. And as a member of our family, we hope you know you can speak up and let us know if there is anything we could be doing better. We always appreciate hearing from you.
