Even though it seems like we’ve been getting the cars ready since the Great Race 2014 ended last year, we keep finding things to repair. And only a few short days before loading the cars up for the trek to Kirkwood, Missouri, the starting point for the Great Race 2015. (@TheGreatRace) But we’re in the home stretch. During one of the drive tests for the 1934 Ford Deluxe Phaeton, we discovered sparks flying and a hole in the muffler. Driving tests also revealed necessary tweaks to brake and ignition systems and the need for a new steering mechanism. So much better and easier to take care of everything here instead of when we are on the road. We also installed a cover (I hesitate to call it a roof) on the 1932 Ford Speedster, AKA “Stars and Stripes.” Hopefully it will offer Trevor and Josh a bit of protection from the sun and other weather we may encounter. We’ll keep you updated as the June 20th start date nears. Thank you for all of you that have donated so far to raise money for autism.
…so looking forward to seeing the ever expanding, “Stahl Group” this week!
