Arrival in Kirkwood for the Great Race

Dealing with the elements is always one of the most exciting parts of the Great Race. We're trying to keep the Stars and Stripes from getting too water-logged.

The Spirit of Stahls teams made it, the cars made it, the rain made it! Yes the gang’s all here in Kirkwood, along with the cars. We’re very excited to be near St. Louis at mile 277 of Route 66, a.k.a. The Mother Road or The Will Rogers Highway, which is also the name of a great bar and grill that we visited. (Mile 277) We’re hoping the weather will improve, and that goes double for Trevor and Josh who don’t have much protection from the elements in the Stars and Stripes. Well at least we were able to install a bit of a rooftop for them. We look forward to meeting more and more racers as they arrive into town and the pre-race activities and training sessions get underway.

All the Spirit of Stahls teams have the keys on our “lucky” Route 66 keychains.
