Monday morning in Davenport we experienced another heavy rainstorm as we prepared to leave for Peoria.
We woke to pouring rain as we prepared to leave Davenport, IA for Peoria, IL on Monday June 24th. Flooded roads and low visibility made for slow going but we hung in there and made the 98 miles to the lunch stop in Peoria, IL.The driving distance between Peoria, IL and Hannibal is about 175 miles, and that’s how long we had the pleasure of Sue Garland & Cande Riordan’s
We met up with Ultimate Ride Along winners for the Peoria, IL to Hannibal, MO leg, Sue Gardner and Cande Riordan of the Locker Room.
company, who joined us for a ride along. Sue is the owner of the Locker Room in Spring Valley, Illinois and Cande works with her. The Locker Room is a sporting goods specialist that offers team equipment, jerseys, screen printing, embroidery and heat printing services. Mary and I were really pleased to be able to spend time with them and discuss the sporting goods industry and future growth plans after the Great Race leg was completed. If you’re reading this, it was nice meeting you Sue and Cande! We wish you continued good luck with your business. We also ran into some other Stahls’ ID customers who came out to see the cars, both in Davenport and Peoria. We always appreciate the chance to say hello in person. The sun was shining upon arrival in Peoria for lunch and you’re probably getting tired of hearing me say this, but GREAT crowds in both Peoria and Hannibal. Not too many hiccups to report, we also want to give a shout-out to Brian McLeod from Stahls’ ID Direct who has been at every stop so far, answering people’s questions about the cars. And thanks again to Joe K. for all the wonderful photos and videos and Danielle back in St. Clair Shores for posting to Facebook in almost real time.
