It’s that time of year when you will be seeing many teams and organizations wearing pink to support fundraising and awareness-raising efforts for breast cancer. Here at Stahls’ in Michigan, we have supported the Detroit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk for 17 years.
In 2016, our team members help to raise over $10,000, coming in 1st place among 657 teams.
This year, Team Stahls’ is proud to be a Silver Sponsor for this American Cancer Society event that helps raise money for research to find cures and ways to prevent breast cancer. Team Captain Peggy Elliott is a four-year cancer survivor, and she is very passionate about the importance of the cause. According to Peggy, “the American Cancer Society not only conducts research, but also provides tremendous support to those that are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Their special programs include volunteers who offer compassion and knowledge from their own personal experience with breast cancer. Being able to speak with someone who has been there, especially early in the journey definitely provides comfort and helps to calm your fears.”
