As our Spirit of Stahls’ teams gear up for the 2024 Great Race, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the recent Spring Rally. This pre-race event was organized by the Stahl Automotive Foundation at the beginning of May. It was truly a weekend to remember, filled with adventure, camaraderie, and vintage automobiles hitting the open road.
Thank You
First and foremost, we must extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who participated. From the seasoned veterans to the newcomers, your enthusiasm and passion for classic cars were evident at every turn. With a total of 78 teams, spanning a remarkable range of vehicles from 1916 classics to modern rentals, it was a great turnout.
Over the course of three days, the rally journey took us through many communities in the greater metro Detroit area, each with its own unique charm and hospitality. From scenic country roads to bustling city streets, every mile was an opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts and share in the joy of the open road.
Memorable Pit Stops
And of course, no rally would be complete without memorable pit stops along the way. Our weekend was punctuated by visits to iconic landmarks such as the St. Clair Inn, Packard Proving Grounds, Wills Sainte Claire Automobile Museum, before winding up at the Stahl Automotive Collection Museum in Chesterfield. Again, thank you to everyone who joined us.
As Mary and I look back on the weekend, we are humbled and honored by the overwhelming turnout and support we received from participants, volunteers, and sponsors alike. Behind the scenes, countless individuals worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event, and their dedication did not go unnoticed. It is thanks to their efforts that we were able to come together as a community and create memories that will last a lifetime.
