The Value of Face to Face Communication

Recently I had the opportunity to participate in a GroupeSTAHL Europe meeting (which take place every 2 months), in Italy. Usually we participate via Skype or some type of conference call, but there is great value in being in the same room with your colleagues. Like so many others, I truly believe that “face-to-face” meetings are a key factor in successfully building and maintaining long term relationships. There are both tangible and intangible results that cannot be replaced by technology. And there is much less “lost in translation” when you are in the same room as opposed to being on a computer with someone. In addition to spending quality time with our team there, we welcomed Fabian of Transfer Production Technologies or TPT to the group. A high-tech transfer manufacturer, this Spain-based company currently operates over 40 kiosks in major department stores throughout Spain. The kiosks offer on-the-spot names and numbers on international soccer jerseys. And with the FIFA World Cup 2014 almost here, along with an insatiable demand for personalized and replica soccer jerseys, these kiosks are kept hopping. The group shared new ideas, looked at up and coming CAD-CUT materials and transfer inks and reviewed the new Hotronix Dual Air Fusion, which will make it’s European debut at the upcoming FESPA in Munich, May 20-23. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend the meeting (even if you’re not in the picture)! And a special thanks to everyone who called me on my birthday from the U.S.! You  helped me not miss my flight home. The short trip was worth the jet-lag. Good luck at FESPA everyone! I can’t wait to hear what you have to share.
