There Might be Money in Your Old T-Shirts

I know that a lot of people collect or compulsively buy t-shirts to commemorate a vacation or a concert they attended. I’m sure if you look in your own closet you will probably find more than you could wear in a week or so. Before you get rid of any old shirts (or before your spouse makes you get rid of them), you might want to check on Ebay or elsewhere online  to see if it’s something that has a bit more value than when you originally bought it back at that rock concert 25 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find that some specific and rare original concert shirts can go for over $1,000, and there were many from bands of the 70’s and 80’s going for anywhere from $45 to $225 dollars. I like it when people put a high value on t-shirts! I was even more impressed to discover that shirts at the recent Lady GaGa (yes, I know who she is, I have a teenage daughter) concert in Los Angeles are selling for $40 a piece. While I’m not so sure that those shirts will be worth more in 30 years, I think it’s a great sign for our economy that people can charge that much for a t-shirt.  What’s the most you’ve ever paid for a t-shirt and where did you buy it?
