If you are like me, and like the folks at Stahls’ Hotronix, you’re always looking for ways to heat print faster and easier. Now I know that many people who get started in the heat printing business often choose a clam-style press as their first heat press. This makes a lot of sense because clam-style presses are affordable and space saving. But once you have a clam press and you use it for a longer period of time, you sometimes come to the realization that it would be a heck of a lot easier if you could print the front and then the back of the jersey or shirt without removing the garment from the press. This is what we call “threadability” or the ability to simply spin your garment around on the lower platen to print any part of the garment. It also means an easier way to load shirts onto the press. This feature is normally only found in higher-end presses such as the Hotronix Fusion or Air Fusion. However, now, if you own any Hotronix® Auto Open Clam or MAXX™ press, you can convert these Clam-style presses to a press that offers threadability. (currently only available for limited number of models) By doing this you can increase your production efficiency by up to 40%, especially if you usually print both sides of the garment. The Hotronix® Heat Press Caddie™makes it possible. Oh, and the heavy-duty caster wheels on the caddie also makes it easy to move your press around your production area. Another thing I like about the Caddie is that it allows you to adjust the height of the machine to the person who is operating the machine. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched people have to stand on their tip toes to reach up to close a press because the press is on a counter that is too high for them. If you happen to be at the Fort Worth Imprinted Sportswear Show, you can test drive the Caddie in person. All our Hotronix heat presses will be there. Make sure you stop by and give them a spin. Booth 1002, Sept 27-29 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Let me know what you think.
