That’s quite a lot of letters in the blog title, but here’s what it means. (Aren’t acronyms great?) PPAI partnered with the Specialty Advertising Association of California (SAAC) to bring PPAI’s “brand.”—the new incentives product showcase launched at the PPAI Expo 2009—to the annual SAAC show, which took place Aug. 3-5, 2010 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA. GroupeSTAHL was there with a team headed up by Jason Murphy of the GroupeSTAHL Sales Alliance. What were some impressions from the show? For one thing, it seems you can’t just give an ordinary t-shirt away anymore. People looking at wearables for their corporate or business wear don’t just want a boxy old-style t-shirt. Newer, softer fabrics and more flattering shapes were being show cased, as well as performance wear, fitted jackets, distressed logos and retro multi-media looks. This trend is similar to what we have seen at FESPA as well as at the Imprinted Sportswear shows. What were some of the craziest promotional items? It’s hard to say. These days you can put a logo on just about anything. One new product was a hands-free sunscreen that had a sponge applicator built into the tip of the bottle. Jason reported a big interest in CAD-PRINTZ®, since the trend towards full color digital, smaller quantities and the need to create a quality look quickly at a good price, are also sought after.
