My Blog in the Detroit Free Press

Welcome new readers! I was wondering why this blog was getting a little more attention than usual on the weekend and then I realized it was the result of a mention in a recent Detroit Free Press article that was published on Sunday. It was on the front page of the business section in the print version, which was a huge honor. Here is the link if you are interested in reading the article. Thanks to columnist Tom Walsh for doing such a great write up, he truly has a talent for making sense of what we discussed in our interview. Thank you Tom and thanks to the Detroit Free Press for the positive press coverage.

    Ted,

I read the article and it energized me to see a long-time successful Detroit area business getting well-deserved recognition.

    Keep up the great work!

Couldn’t agree more with Dave. The Freep article, as well as my subsequent google-ing of you was extremely refreshing to read. It is so nice to read about a company that doesn’t dwell on “these tough economic times” and finds a way to grow and succeed. I think there are a lot of people out there that could benefit from your words about companies getting complacent and not taking some calculated risks. Again, it really was nice to read about your company in the paper this weekend, and even though I don’t have the need to sell more shirts in 23 days I have added your blog to my “favorites” bar.

Thank you both for your kind words and comments and for following the blog. Complacency is truly a business-killer, no matter what size or type of company you are dealing with. I will have to get that printed on a t-shirt, “Complacency Kills.”

Your blog is a real inspiration to those of us in the industry. I’m glad to see you get some local attention to go with the national favor you garner. Thanks for being an educator when we so desperately need them.
