On November 9th Stahls Automotive Foundation held a Veterans Open House with all donations going to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Inc.
What a great turn out they had with some very special guests including the Michigan Veteran Homes of Chesterfield and WDIV Channel 4 News.
On this Veterans Day, Mary and I, along with the entire Stahl family, want to take a moment to express our deep gratitude to all who have served. Veterans Day holds special meaning for our family, reminding us of the sacrifice, bravery, and dedication of those who defend our freedom.
We’ve always believed that honoring veterans isn’t just something to observe on one day—it’s a value we hold year-round. From those who fought in past wars to today’s servicemen and women, each of you has made it possible for us to enjoy the liberties we often take for granted. Your courage and selflessness are an inspiration to us, and we are forever grateful for the sacrifices made, both large and small.
This Veterans Day, we want to encourage everyone to reach out and thank a veteran, whether it’s someone in your family, a friend, or even someone you’ve never met. Let them know their service is appreciated. We are honored to stand with you all in gratitude and respect.
I would also like to let people in the Metro Detroit area know we are once again be hosting the STAHLS’ Power Play for Heroes charity hockey game.

STAHLS’ Power Play for Heroes kicks off with our 8th annual Detroit Red Wings Alumni vs. Team STAHLS’ charity hockey game on Friday, November 15, 2024.
The Stahls’ Power Play for Heroes is a charity event to honor our Veterans.
All proceeds benefit Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, pairing Michigan veterans with individually trained medical service dogs helping change and save a Veterans life.
- Join us to honor local veterans on the ice before the game.
- Notable Red Wings Alum include 4X Stanley Cup Champion Darren McCarty.
- Also playing for Team Stahls’ is Brad Galli WXYZ Channel 7 news sports anchor.
- Al Sobotka former NHL Zamboni driver will also be on hand to toss some octopuses or is it octopi?
- One of the iconic Hanson Brothers, Steve Carlson, from the cult classic movie Slapshot will take part in the game and be available for photos after the first period.
Enjoy a True Fan Experience
Fans will have the chance to bid on auction items or purchase Detroit Red Wings Alumni memorabilia and apparel. Attendees can also take photos with the notable NHL official Ted Lindsay trophy or replica Stanley Cup. Participate in 50/50 and gift basket raffles, as well as face painting. BBQ Daddy will be on hand serving food, adult beverages will be available and full items at the rink concession stand.

- From 6:15-7pm Drew Miller and Danny Dekeyser will be available for autographs upstairs in the Gardens rink.
