I am always reminded of the deep love of country so many people in the USA share whenever I travel. Whether it is a group of people spontaneously applauding service men and women in the airport or the ubiquitous American flags in convenience stores, gas stations and other places you don’t expect to see a flag. As we head into Memorial Day weekend, in addition to dusting off the barbecue and making potato salad, it’s time once again for everyone to remember those who have died in service to our country. The men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms deserve this respect. Memorial Day events are held in just about every community but if you are unable to attend one in person, you might want to tune into a special PBS Memorial Day Concert which will be broadcast live from the West Lawn of the Capitol on Sunday, May 29th 8:00-9:30 pm EST.
If you’re looking for ways to express your patriotism on a t-shirt, you may have already heard that Stahls’ Transfer Express now has a new line of stock transfers, that I like to call the “America is Great” series. It was inspired by all the folks out there that fly flags, applaud servicemen and women and are just simply proud to be a citizen of this great nation. It features the artwork of Dane Clement, who is a pro at capturing the pride and glory of America in highly detailed, full color art.
Transfer Express is producing the transfers in a process called “Transfer Extreme.” Transfer Extreme is a new, highly innovative simulated 4-color process printing method that produces screenprinted plastisol transfers that look like they were direct printed, offset printed or digitally printed. But they’re not! They have the look and feel of direct screenprinting (expert screenprinters and others in the know will be impressed with the quality of the printing, the number of colors and the finished appearance) after application. They can be applied to both light and dark shirts and can be heat printed in just 4 seconds! Joe Tutak of Transfer Express says that since the introduction of the line yesterday, all 10 styles are selling well but it seems that for now the most popular single design is an edgy “flag heart” design called USA#1. The convenient variety packs are the next best sellers.
If you have tried the new transfers and have any feedback on how you used them or why you purchased them, I would really like to hear from you. Please comment on the blog or send me an email.
